What if a fence has very strong posts and the mailbox is on one of them? Due to a security issue, we recently received permission to move the mailbox from the street to the front door. Instead of mounting the box on the brick house, we considered installing a pole-mounted box next to the porch. Are there any specific regulations that we have to follow? Where should the mailbox be if you`re using a shared rural drive? I don`t think my neighbor would approve of placing our mailbox next to his (his mailbox is on his property). Can a mailbox be installed on our side of the drive (?). Won`t the postman deliver the mail to the mailboxes? I live on a rural country road. At the end of this road is a subdivision by the river. Approximately 15 residents have a secondary mailbox in front of an additional property we have acquired. We would like to expand a new driveway and expand the yard of this new property for our adult children. What options do we have? The boxes are only used when the subdivision roads become impassable and the other residents over 250 pick up their mail in town at the post office Hello, I recently bought a house located in a golf club complex at the end of the street (see drawing: ——l ), Our house is on the corner to the right and our mailbox is attached to our house. I received a letter saying. I had to place a mailbox at the end of our driveway. I also noticed that no one else on my street has a mailbox at the end of our driveway.
I have spoken to previous owners who have told me that they have received their mail in the mailbox of the house. Is it because I`m the new owner?, but I don`t understand why I have to change mine and no one else has to change theirs. It states that a steel pole with a diameter of 2 inches is acceptable. „Sidewalk poles should be buried less than 24 inches deep and made of wood no more than 4 inches high and 4 inches wide. Steel or aluminum pipes with a diameter of 2 inches are also acceptable. I agree. I`m on 4 in 4 years and they are always hit in the middle of the night and not once has anyone stopped or come back to fix it for me. If people can have the big brick and cement mailboxes, I`ll just go with my 6×6 message that I already have.
The speed limit is 25 here, so if you`re drunk or driving too fast, hate it for yourself. In a car accident: the legal theory of negligence. According to this theory, a driver must drive his vehicle with due diligence, taking into account the circumstances. A driver who does not drive safely is negligent and may be held liable for resulting injuries. However, mailboxes are considered federal property and federal law (Title 18, United States Code, Section 1705) criminalizes vandalizing them (or violating, defaced, or destroying mail placed on them). Violators can be fined up to $250,000 or jailed for up to three years for each act of vandalism. Hello Carole. Sometimes the USPS subsidizes the cost of new HOA cluster mailboxes, and sometimes they ask the HOA to cover the cost in full.
I don`t know if there`s a standard answer to that question, or at least I don`t know. Good luck! Cheers, local Gabe town, or county laws may vary, but if your box or mail hurts an affected person, you may be held liable. A friend recently tipped a car into a small curved cul-de-sac street whose brick mailbox, which was not authorized in the area, overturned and they ended up in their front yard with a helicopter. I don`t know how to be prosecuted yet. I`m just worried about the pilot. They weren`t replaced with bricks, I didn`t know where to write my complaint about the doorman in our area that I`m from Cahokia Illinois and the porter wants to walk on my grass and flowers to go to the nearest yard and I moved here for about 8 months so I like a nice garden and told him no, So he kept walking in my garden and ignoring what I didn`t ask him. I denounced it and asked my grandson to put the box on the side of the garage. The post office said they were all returning my mail to me because snow had blocked the mailbox a year ago. We recently had mailbox manipulations in our neighborhood, so a resident bought a metal „Area under CCTV“ sign and nailed it to the mailbox shelter – a structure that contains and covers about 8 boxes. It rains a lot here and 5 days a week, he sees the door open and our mail is soaked to the point of damaging it. 1 day a week, if he has free time and the filling driver delivers, we have no problem. I spoke politely to the driver and he kept leaving. Is the local postmaster in our region the next step? Regulation to close the door? Feeling frustrated.
Thank you for your reply. I had the same problem, but there are steps you can take. Call the Postal Consumer Service, they can find and photograph your box and send you a copy of the results. If the sidewalk has a crack or the steps collapse, then yes, it is a danger because they can dull and trip small sensitive toes, simply because the carriers do not look where they walk. But if none of this exists and you have money to spend, you can sue that carrier for harassment, but remember that the carrier is a federal employee, so his laundry trumps your truth. The best solution I found after a 6-year struggle was to call the postmaster and ask for a compromise on this issue and what you need to do to make it a safe transition to the box it is in.
